Is there an easy way to resize photos?
Yes, there is. I use an application called PicResizer to quickly resize a lot of photos. This app only exists for Windows – sorry Mac folks.
You can get a copy of PicResizer from the author’s website. Once you’ve downloaded your copy and unzipped the program, follow the steps below.
Open My Computer and browse to the folder that has the images that you want resized.
To start the application, PicResizer.exe, double click on it’s icon.
Set the max width to 1600 and max height to 1200 (or whatever your required sizes are, in pixels).
Set the quality to 100.
In the “Rename to:” field you’ll see “small\%name.jpg”
Drag and drop a photo that you want resized onto the application window
And it automatically creates a subdirectory in that folder called “small”
And puts a resized copy of the photo into the small sub-directory using the original file name.
Nice, eh?
You can also select or highlight a group of photos and drag and drop them all onto the app window and, voila – all photos get resized automatically.
A time saver, FOR SURE!
