It’s a been a long time coming, but it’s here and now. We have maintained support on our servers for PHP v. 4.x and mySQL v. 4.x for some of the legacy applications on some of our customers web sites. This hasn’t been a problem until now because WordPress 3.1, due in late 2010, will be the last version of WordPress to support PHP 4.
This means that we must move ahead with the times and upgrade our servers to the latest versions of PHP and mySQL as soon as possible. For the vast majority of our customers, this won’t be a problem – for some of you though, this means that some form of upgrades may be necessary for compliance to the new versions. We will be issuing notifications to everyone in the next month or so as to what needs to happen and we advise anyone that if compliance is a question mark to take the appropriate action to avoid any potential problems at change over.
